Smile with a Heart

Small Chins to Happy Grins.

With limited or no access to oral health care, children from impoverished families and some minority groups have a much higher rate of tooth decay. These children are at a significant risk for impaired cognitive and social development, educational disparities and a lifetime of shame associated with dental disease.

The Smile with a Heart organization has a clear focus on serving the needs of underprivileged children in the surrounding communities. We feel this is our best opportunity to rally our team and organization around a cause where we can make a difference in the lives of the children and families in the communities we serve each and every day by providing free dental care to these children, the care they deserve, but otherwise may not receive. Our initiative is to provide free oral care to children in need. Therefore, children with insurance cannot be accepted at this event, but are welcome during normal operating hours.

  • Nearly 25% of U.S. children live in poverty.
  • 1 in 5 U.S. children go without dental care.
  • 23% of children 2 to 11 have never been to the dentist.
  • Almost half of all young children, age 2 to 5, have never been to the dentist.
  • More than 40% of children have dental cavities by the time they reach kindergarten.
  • Dental Care is the most prevalent unmet health care need for children with special needs.

When action meets compassion, lives change.
